PADI Open Water Dive Course - Referral Course

Explore the spectacular ecology of our oceans with the PADI Open Water dive course - referral course. A team of professional instructors and assisting dive masters will take you from cyber classroom to underwater world, leaving you with the beginning stages of your PADI's internationally-recognised diving licence. 

The PADI Open Water Dive Referral Course is an entry-level certification course that covers the theory and pool sessions of the Padi Open Water Dive Certificate.  You can then go on to do the open water dives at your convenience. Among the skills you've learn are: buoyancy, proper weighting, marine environment and conservation, equipment assembly, dive planning and equipment maintenance.
 The course has two components: a knowledge component completed on line and an confined water pool sessions where you'll learn the fundamentals of scuba diving (mask clearing etc).

This course is the key to a lifetime of marine explorations. 

The course requires self study and then a theory and exam with the GS-diving instructor followed by 1-2 pool sessions.  These classes are flexible.  

Our Australian TDI, SDI & PADI Scuba Diving Instructor, has been diving for over 8 years and instructing scuba diving for over 6 years. This doesn’t include his mentoring and teaching experience in his previous corporate endeavours, that spanned over 21 years.

Participants must be at least 10 years of age, in good health and comfortable in the water.

Suitability: This experience is suitable for anyone that would like to try diving and become certified, but they must be at least 10 years of age and comfortable in the water. 

Venue: Singapore

Duration: The course requires self study and then a theory and exam with the GS-diving instructor followed by 1-2 pool sessions.  These classes are flexible.  

Booking: Please book at least two weeks in advance to avoid disappointment.

Availability: Courses run regularly throughout the year.

Numbers: This experience is conducted in small groups to ensure personalised attention.

Spectators: Spectators welcome but please understand they will be diving. 

Weather: This experience is impacted by the weather. In the event of bad weather, please contact the experience provider for alternative arrangements.

Need to know: Participants must be at least 10 years of age and relaxed in the water. Participants will be asked to complete a medical questionnaire before completing the course. This experience takes place in the pool.

What to wear: Swimming clothes.

What is included in the program: Course materials, online testing, pool instruction, all dive equipment required for pool instruction will be provided. All they will need to bring are their swimming attire and towel

Detailed Course Structure

Knowledge Development Sessions Online: Upon registration you'll receive the materials necessary to complete the theory component of this course.

Confined water pool session: The confined water pool sessions will take place at either Outram Secondary School or Mana Mana swimming pool. During the sessions, fundamental skills of scuba diving that are required to keep a diver safe will be taught. Divers will also be introduced to all diving equipment needed during the course.

Even though the fees include all gear needed for the duration of the course, it is advisable that divers invest in their own mask, fins, snorkel and wetsuit prior to the confined water session. This is because students adapt faster using their own gear, as they feel more comfortable and relaxed during the training. Moreover, subsequent dives will require little or no adjustment to the equipment because they are already accustomed to their gear.

What's included in the program?

You'll be supplied with all the diving equipment required for the poolsessions. Only suitable and maintained equipment will be provided.

All you will need to bring is your swimming attire and towel and your instructor will provide the rest!
