In this wilderness adventure, you will explore the mangroves in a kayak. Lead by experienced guides, you will paddle the mangroves of Pulau Ubin. Appreciate the wonders of nature against a backdrop of endless greenery and learn about the amazing works of Earth's ecology. On arrival, your guide will help you get outfitted in good quality gear before you glide off the beach in a kayak to begin your Mangrove Kayaking Adventure on Pulau Ubin. Kingfishers, Eagles, Hornbills, Herons and Egrets are some of the many species of birds often spotted. More difficult to spot will be the family of otters or the two pods of pink river dolphins we have, on occasion, chanced-upon.
Rain or shine, this is quite simply the finest half-day kayak trip you will find in Singapore. Certified guides lead an entertaining sea and mangrove route that is limited to 20 participants. This is an easy to moderate adventure, which requires no previous experience or skill, making it perfect for beginners and families. This experience takes four hours and departs from Palau Ubin jetty. Sessions generally run daily beginning at 9.30am or 2.30am. Participants need to be at Palau Ubin Jetty by that time. Allow time to get to Palau Ubin as the crossing can be busy.
Suitability: This experience is suitable for anyone between 5 and 11 years of age that would like to kayak. However children 12 years and under must be accompanied by an adult. Different pricing applies for children 13 years and over, please see our Mangrove Kayaking Adult Experience.
What's included: Experienced and Licensed Kayaking Guides (Singapore Canoe Federation) and all necessary equipment - kayaks, paddles and personal floatation devices. Personal Floatation devices must be worn by all participants.
What's not included: Bum boat transfers to Palau Ubin, personal gear, and food and beverages.
What to wear: Shorts, tshirt/rash top, covered shoes, hat, sunscreen, and mosquito spray. Be prepared to get wet!
